Door Jam Protection systems are used in a wide variety of industrial applications to protect against damage caused by a door jam that might prevent an access point from being opened. The system has several elements and can be used to either prevent the door from locking or jamming to make opening the door more difficult to allow access.
The first element is a mechanism that prevents the door from closing entirely after the latch has been released. This device is typically a spring-loaded device that can only be manually released. Next is a system that prevents a door from “jumping” forward to jams in place. This type of machine uses a series of rollers to stop the door from moving forward. Finally, a gate and handle are used to prevent an entry from bouncing back towards the user due to the door not having been manually released. This allows for more precise access and makes it possible to open and close a door with less effort.
