Flying With Your Cat Or Dog

Most airlines offer pet transportation, and it’s a safe and convenient way to transport your pet. Most pet owners are more nervous than their dog or cat! Although requirements are generally standard, always contact your airline for specific guidelines, and you may also need to book space for your pet, as it is limited. Some airlines also have restrictions on transporting your pet in high temperatures or in extreme cold. You have two options, to take your pet in the cabin with you or transport him in the cargo hold, although only smaller pets are allowed in the cabin. Regardless, you will need a secure and airline approved pet carrying case, and your cat or dog will need to be fed and watered before the flight. Your pet may also need to be sedated, and it’s generally a good idea to consult with your vet beforehand.
